Project Description:
Getting into Ma Liang’s story, painting gadgets through your controllers, use them to help characters in the story.
Targeted platforms
– PC generate VR + AR mobile application
– AR: A guide book for users. Players will learn what figures they need to draw in different scenes from the AR guide book.
– VR: main stage of the experience.
Story:
Narrative mode:
Non-linear narrative.
3 perspective to experience the story, players will play as the god, the boy Ma Liang, the evil lord respectively.
Story Contents:
Players have an AR guide book. Use their phones to scan the guide book, through the camera they will see simple figures float over the guide book. There are some description about the magic brush and Ma Liang. According to the guide book, the magic brush has broken into pieces, players need to collect these pieces in the VR environment and put them together.
Putting on the headset, players are located in a scene with 3 paintings around them. Pieces of magic brush are inside of the 3 paintings separately. To collect all the pieces, players need to get into paintings.
Painting 1: God. (players play as the god)
The god noticed there was a boy enjoyed drawing. The god created a magic brush and gave it to the boy as a gift.
Painting 2: Boy, Ma Liang. (players play as the boy)
Ma Liang received the magic brush from the god. He walked outside his house, he found an old farmer was working hard in the field. Ma Liang drew a buffalo for the old farmer. With the help of the buffalo, farmer worked efficiently. At the moment, the evil lord passed by, he saw the buffalo drawn by Ma Liang.
Painting 3: Evil Lord. (players play as the evil lord)
Someone gave the magic brush which was stolen from Ma Liang to the evil lord. The evil lord
drew a golden mountain for himself. However, the golden mountain fell from the sky, the evil lord was crushed under the mountain.
Gameplay
- The AR guide book indicates there are some simple figures are available to draw in the VR environment.
- When drawing events happens in VR environments, there will be UI elements guiding players.
- Painting function would be like Tiltbrush, holding trigger button to draw.
